Mark C. Hartnett, JD, CFP®
Mark Hartnett is the founder and managing member of Family Wealth Practices, LLC. His practice focuses on two areas: 1) providing leadership to financially successful families that desire to grow their family balance sheet through multi-generational planning in order to overcome the “shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations” proverb; and 2) working with individuals to bring an objective, goal-based process to financial planning and portfolio management.
Mark is a native of Memphis, Tennessee and graduate of the University of Memphis, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, graduating magna cum laude with a minor in Legal Thought and Liberal Arts. He furthered his studies at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, earning his Juris Doctorate Degree of Law and his Masters Degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation in 1995, he moved to Jackson, Mississippi where he practiced corporate law at Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company. Mark’s expertise in fiduciary law and financial planning allowed him the opportunity to lead several bank trust departments in the southeast from 1999 to 2008. Mark has distinguished himself among his fellow colleagues by becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), a graduate from the Southern Trust School, by serving as Chairman of the Estates and Trust section of the Mississippi Bar Association and as a member of the Mississippi Trust Laws Study Group.
